Hawks painting his nails is something that he actually wants to do since he was a teen, and one time, he took this liberty. He did it.

The late winter sun reflected on his freshly painted long nails, some of them had yet to dry completely. They weren't exactly... nails, his handlers didn't let him grow them, so they never developed as talons; not until now, when after some time, he managed to hide them with gloves - "my hands are cold, can I please keep the gloves on?"

He considered himself very lucky, since nobody noticed a hole he made on one of the gloves, made by mistake with his talon, really, it wasn't on purpose - "if they see I ruined the gloves--- I can't let them notice!"

The nail polish wasn't placed perfectly, he wasn't a professional; it was his first time after all. A little-too-late gift for his thirteenth birthday, a little liberty, it wouldn't have hurt anyone, really! What's wrong in nail polish?

It's girly.

A man doesn't wear nail polish.

Get rid of that disgusting thing from your nails already.

And cut them.

He stared at them, admiring his work. Under the sun, the color took beautiful blue shades: they were so pretty, so intense, they danced if he moved his fingers a little - I want to dance sometimes, but not for training -, some of them were so dark they might had looked black, just like the darkness he saw when he closed his eyes, or when he had to wear the blindfold - "I don't want the blindfold."

Maybe I should remove the paint before training tomorrow.
